TSE (Treated Sewage Effluent)
It is one of the most dry and arid regions in the world which is facing inconceivable challenges in protecting fresh water for domestic, agriculture and industrial uses. Thus, reusing treated sewage effluent (TSE) will be essential to overcome the water scarcity in this country. The filling station for TSE at the Doha West plant can fill up to 20 tankers simultaneously with a capacity of 20 cubic metres of treated water. It takes about 12 minutes to fill a tanker. The plant can fill up to 40 tankers per hour, 960 tankers per day and more than 350,000 tankers per annum. The Doha West plant produces 275,000 cubic metres of TSE per day and in 2020 it produced approximately 100 mn cubic metres treated water.
